Phlegm

I love the word phlegm. It is like our Portuguese "gosma".
Phlegm is the colour-changing thingies we have on our throat when we have a cold, from transparent-y to yellow to green on its final stages.

I have a cold. Hate it. Am spending the weekend home to cure it and be good for next week. Am gonna have soup and orange juice the whole time. No phlegm for next week.

Disgusting post.

COUGH UP PHLEGM

If you have phlegm, cough it up. When the phlegm (mucus, spit) remains in the lungs, it can clog the smaller bronchial tubes, making breathing more difficult. While it remains in the bronchial tubes, it may also lead to an infection.

Controlled coughing is an important technique to learn in order to clear excess mucus from the lungs.

1. take a slow, deep breath and hold it for 2 seconds
2. cough twice, with your mouth slightly open - the first cough should loosen mucus and the second cough should propel it out of the lungs
3. pause
4. sniff gently - do not take in a deep breath, as this may cause you to cough again and drive the mucus back into the lungs
5. rest

Control your cough; don't let it control you!

New Year's Eve

Another year started, this time it's called 2005. Write it down people, 2005.

And what's the best way to celebrate a new year coming? Of course, throwing a big party, lots of people, lots of drinks and food, spend a lot of money and two hours after opening the bottle of champagne, feel like it's always the biggest disappointment of the year, and next year you will celebrate it by yourself in some recluded location - snow included preferably - with just a bottle of wine.

That's why then, I decided to throw a small intimate party for just a few friends, nice food (that I cooked and made everyone kind of sick - everyone ate too much that was) and after opening the bottle of champagne (ten minutes after 12) we watched a documentary on Sex and the City on TV followed by the last two episodes of the series, where Carrie after an (even more) annoying sixth series ends up with Big and he's actually called John. What d'ya know?

So nice start of year. Quiet and relaxed with best friends and not disappointing at all, as there were no big expectations.
That's how I feel about starting this year. Won't be disappointed as I have no big expectations for it.

Lisbon

Isn't Lisbon the most beautiful city in the world? :) I'll answer that - Yes.
Chiado, Bairro Alto, Carmo (that new patisserie was amazing), and I didn't have time to see much more this time. Just crossing those bridges is an amazing experience. And since I'm (was) a suburban boy, I had to cross it several times.

And then it is even special when all your friend that at the moment are scattered around the world (well most of them are in Barcelona), come to Lisbon as well for an awaited gathering.

This is us at Fragil on the 23rd, before Xmas.
