Connan & The Mockasins ¬ sneaky sneaky dogfriend

Kiwi band Connan & The Mockasins' first UK single is quite cute.

LCD Soundsystem ¬ north american scum

NY indie/dance guru James Murphy aka LCD Soundsystem is back with album 'Silver and Sound'. The first single from it is this 'north american scum' and it will be released next week in the UK.

Taylor Mac

Taylor Mac is an absolutely brilliant New York performer who I happened to see playing Duckie a few months ago. He's coming back to London to do a few shows at the Soho Theatre from the 26th March to April 7th. He's also doing Duckie on the 24th of March.

This is the video for his song 'the palace of the end'.

Kate Nash ¬ caroline's a victim

Kate Nash is a über-cool girl from London. Check out the video for her single 'caroline's a victim'.

Birthday party flyer

Neia will feature in my birthday party. But she doesn't get a credit.

Siobhan Donaghy ¬ don't give it up

Siobhan Donaghy is back. Who is she? She was the first to quit Sugababes Inc. Now she is back with her second solo album and this will be the first single. Rather Kate Bush-y. Also check song 'ghosts' on her myspace profile.

Robyn ¬ konichiwa bitches

More Robyn! This is the video for the forthcoming single in the UK - konichiwa bitches. This was released about 2 years ago in Sweden but only now gets a UK release.

The Decemberists ¬ o valencia!

The Decemberists have released the single 'o valencia!' in the UK as a single this week. It is taken from 'The Crane Wife' album and it is a great song.

Calvin Harris ¬ acceptable in the 80s

The 80s are back (for the past 10 years now...) but this song is quite interesting. Released at the end of last year.
I stilll have no idea who Calvin Harris is.

Low vs Diamond ¬ life after love

LA band Low vs Diamond first single. Press release mentions Roxy Music and Serge Gainsbourg...

The Knife feat. Jay-Jay Johanson ¬ marble house

'Marble House' was released in Sweden last year as a single. I'm very glad that this is getting a UK release. This is the 4th single out of 'Silent Shout'. The video is also brilliant as usual.

Lily Allen ¬ alfie

The 4th single out of 'Alright, Still'. Cool video innit?

b'day soon - flyer (draft)

This is the (draft) flyer of Neia and Luis' b'day party to be celebrated next Friday. Some have said "it needs better fonts", others have said "Neia's photo looks out of place" but I kind of like it. Neia will probably kill me when she sees it but I might do a new/better one when I return from Lisbon early next week.

M.I.A. ¬ bird flu

M.I.A. is just simply F.A.B. She's back in 2007 with 'bird flu'. In fact she hasn't stopped - checkout her myspace to understand what she's been on about.

Nelly Furtado ¬ say it right

'Loose' was one of the best pop/r&b crossover albums of last year. Nelly Furtado went top 10 with the 3 first singles out of it and this is the 4th track to be released. It is already climbing the UK singles chart on downloads only and it will be surely become another hit for her.

Kelis feat. Cee-Lo ¬ lil' star

Kelis is the best thing that has ever come out of the world of r&b - she crosses over to pop and dance very easily and is not afraid to try different stuff on her albums. That's why I was so annoyed when I heard 'bossy' the first single taken from her latest album which was kind of rubbish.
This is the second single, quite better, very sweet song proper for Valentine's day, where she is collaborating with Cee-Lo the voice of Gnarls Barkley.

The Long Blondes ¬ giddy stratospheres

Some say The Long Blondes are one the most over-hyped bands of last year but they have a very unique sound. I like them. This is their new single and it's one of the best tracks of their debut album.

Berlin

I was in fact shooting an Americal Apparel ad in Berlin this weekend.

Robyn ¬ be mine

And this is the first single taken from Robyn's 2005 Swedish album which only now (March) will be released in the UK. Great pop track.

Robyn featuring Jenny Wilson ¬ list of demands

Here is the fab cover of Saul Williams' track.

Saul Williams ¬ list of demands

This is a track from 2005 which completely passed me by. I really don't know why - it is a great song.
How did I come across it now? Well, after listening the cover that Robyn and Jenny Wilson did for Robyn's UK EP 'the rakamonie EP'.

Christian Falk feat. Robyn and Ola Salo

Another Swedish DJ collaborating with Robyn. She's great. This track is an ode to all misfits; it was #10 on the PitchforkMedia Best tracks of 2006 and it is indeed a great track. Ola Salo is the singer from glam band The Ark. Have a look at the live version video of the track. You can also find the video here.

Kleerup feat. Robyn ¬ with every heartbeat

I love this track. It was released in Sweden last year and it's being played in the UK dance radio shows at the moment, so hopefully this will get a proper UK release this year. Robyn's voice sounds great as usual.
